Customer Lookup

Found at Estimate, Invoice, or Customer pages. Click any drop-down arrow to search by that item (eg. Last Name). A single match on a search term will result on that record being returned. For example if last name "Lafarge" is chosen and there is only one Lafarge in your customer list then that record will be called up. If the search term has multiple matches (eg. Smith and you have three "Smiths") then arrows will still appear in the other item boxes (eg. First Name). Further choices will continue to narrow down the list until only a single match is found.

The Phone number is often the quickest way to find a single match. If you are on a record that happens to match who you are looking for but you are still in search mode then click the edit button. Whenever you are in edit mode, regardless of what page you are on (Estimate, Invoice, or Customer) changes can be made to the Customer information. After making any changes to the Customer record the Save button will become active. You must save these changes before leaving the page.

A new Customer can be added using the New button. Click Save/Update after filling in as many fields as possible. Clicking X will attempt to delete a Customer. However if there are Estimate or Invoice records associated with that Customer then you will be warned and allowed to either keep the Customer or deactivate them. Deactivation will hide them from future use but still allow for complete historical reports (sales, work history, etc.).
